Harvest Fever by Jeffery Martin Botzenhart

They thought it was aliens…it was worse.

In a few days, things are going to get better for Orrville. In a few days, Orrville will be eighteen and he can leave home. Home is where Henry Lee is, Orrville’s drunk stepdad who steals all his money and gambles it away. For Orrville, the future is anywhere Henry Lee isn’t.

But he wasn’t counting on an alien invasion. Bright lights in the night and a heavy fog, shadows between the trees, and a town that is suddenly empty as a ghost town. There’s no one else left–except Henry Lee.

Now, Orrville has to decide whether Henry Lee is safer than the aliens. Can he trust Henry Lee long enough to survive the night? Along the way he meets two men who say they’re his father, and one who doesn’t say that he is his grandfather. At least he knows what Henry Lee is. Trust is a tricky thing.

Harvest Fever takes you down a dark road where everyone is something other than what they seem. It’s not the unknown out there that we have to fear, but what we trust right here.
